SEMA SHOW 2014 and chrome plating (wheels, accessories, and tires)
We just return from SEMA SHOW 2014 and saw the latest / greatest in automotive wheel trends. It’s all about colors, matt black, multi-piece wheels.
As always, the event is gi-enormous, with spectacular trade show layouts, and the most intriguing booths. Of course, the SEMA models and the beautiful young ladies are the highlight to this event.
OK OK…. Now, let’s get back to business….. After walking throughout SEMA show isles (wheels, accessories, and tires) you can’t help to notice that color wheels, glossy, matt, two-tones or two-colors are really in. In fact, it dominated. Plus, we saw 23in wheels up to 28in wheels…. Size does matter.
In our opinion, this year’s show appeared less attended and SEMA EDUCATION had less seminar topics. Even though less people attended, the parking lots were full and we ended up paying $40 for a parking spot. No handicap parking to be found.
We can sum it up by saying, for us, this event is a preview of things coming to the automotive industry, specifically regarding to chrome plating, wheels, and accessories.. the TREND is all about color wheels and not about polish chrome plating. So if color is what the consumers want…color is what they are going to get.
